What it is
A professional blood test you collect at home.
It is for anyone who wants to know their Omega-3 Index. That is the share of the fat in your red blood cells that is EPA and DHA.
How it works. Collect a small sample at home with the kit. Post it back in the envelope we include. OmegaQuant's laboratory analyses it and sends your report.
How long it takes. OmegaQuant publish a turnaround of two to four weeks from when the lab receives your sample.
- 24 individual fatty acids measured
- Four markers reported: your Omega-3 Index, your omega-6 to omega-3 ratio, your AA to EPA ratio, and your Trans Fat Index
- 8% or more is the level the lab calls desirable
- Analysed by OmegaQuant, the laboratory that developed the Omega-3 Index
- European samples are analysed at the University of Stirling in the UK
- The laboratory fee is included in the price
